After all - and once again - ALL the DEMS voted to continue the "raid as usual" approach. What NOT a surprise!

Also, I'd like to point out that they all have more to gain at this point by reaching out to the party base than anything else since they can't win if they don't get out of the primarles. Hell, McCain went to tennessee or something recently for a mock primary vote and kissed Bush's ass the whole time.
Keep dreamin'.

Time Magazine reported in 1995 that the reason for the bankruptcy of the Social Security trust fund is endless borrowing by Congress, without repayment, over the last several decades. In plain English, our money is being stolen from us! Yet our elected representatives, eleven years later, still blame the shortfall on the greater longevity and increasing number of seniors, and then punish us for their own thievery by upping the age for full benefits.
Why aren't Social Security recipients, both current and potential, raising their voices in concerted protest? The primary reason, in my opinion, is the new middle-class philosophy which holds that apple-polishing is smarter than holding our representatives accountable. Actually, it isn't smart; it's stupid. We all lose in the long run.

What about Chuck Hagel? He's a Republican Senator eyeing a 2008 run. And one that sponsored legislation to reform social security in early 2005.
