If by "private sector" you mean equity funds under govt controls that result in an expansion of government power then I have a huge problem with that.

Question...aren't equity funds under government control better than the current system? I mean, at least we have something at the end of the day (i.e., our lives) that we can pass on to our heirs.

No they aren't. They'll allow new possibilities for government coersion of public corporation decision making. Like we don't have enough of that already.
