From Larry Kudlow
"A brand new, hot-off-the-press survey shows that the American investor class continues to grow by leaps and bounds. In the last three years, the number of families owning stocks has risen to 56.9 million from 54.1 million, meaning that nearly 60 percent of U.S. households are invested in equities today. That number is even more striking when you look back twenty years, when only a fifth of households were card-carrying members of the investor class. The Investment Company Institute, one of the sponsors of the survey (which was based on five thousand interviews), proclaims that the U.S. has “become a society of equity investors.” The Securities Industry Association, another survey sponsor, believes that these trends will only intensify with the aging of the post-war baby-boom generation."
Personal Accounts would make the power of the market available to all Americans.

All this is yet another reason why Socialist Insecurity Equity Funds are such a horrible idea. The fact that investing has never been easier for the common investor and the fact that the average American is better able than ever to invest for him or herself means that forcing Americans into "approved funds" like Bush & the republicraps want is transparent bullcrap. Americans don't need SSA governmental approval to make wise investment choices for themselves and America certainly doesn't need the resultant corruption that will inevitably ensue from Socialist Insecurity Equity Funds.

If you really wanted to make the 'power of the market' available to all, you'd just let young people opt out of Socialist Insecurity even in part.

But instead you want another government program of 'approved' funds which will result in government interference in the market. That's far worse than the current situation.
