"The vast majority of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle -- obviously, all of them on the other side of the aisle, and some of them on my side of the aisle -- are just saying, 'Well, this is not the politically best thing to do to talk about this issue; let's just wait until the crisis hits us between the eyes and then let [lawmakers then] deal with it.' I just think that's irresponsible, I didn't come here to dodge problems."
